Does Sitting Pretty only accommodate weddings?
We can assist with any event, wedding, birthday, corporate event or any special occasion

How far in advance can I book my wedding?
We take bookings 18 months in advance unless booked with a local vendor to whom which we are the preferred supplier then booking can be 2 years ahead

How much deposit do I need to secure the date?
We require a $200 deposit to be paid within 7 days of making your booking, if your booking total is less than $200 we will require full payment to secure the date

When do I need to pay the balance?
Final numbers and balance is due no later than 14 days prior to date or collection of hire items

What happens if we need to cancel?
Deposits are non refundable, they may be transferred to a different date. Cancellations made less than 6 weeks from booked date will forfeit all monies paid. No refunds are available for cancellation of ceremony due to wet weather

Where and When can I collect my DIY Hire?
Collection of DIY hire is from Salamander Bay
Collection can be made on Thursday and returned no later than Monday for Saturday events

Do I need Council approval to hold my wedding ceremony at a beach or park?
Yes, you will need to contact Port Stephens Council or National Parks to hold your ceremony at any of our local beaches or parks. We will require a copy of the approval to take with us on the day incase any issues arise. Fees are applicable, popular locations can book quickly

What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
Well it is said to be good luck, and we would love to be able to guarantee you the perfect weather for your perfect day however if in the event that you cannot hold your ceremony at the original location, we will require that you give us as much notice as possible to change to your wet weather back up plan. Once a ceremony has been set, location cannot be changed. No refunds are given for ceremonies cancelled due to weather on the day.

When will you arrive to set up & pack down our ceremony or reception?
Council restrictions allow you 2 hours use of the site, we will arrive approx 1 hour before ceremony start time and complete the set up before your guests arrive, we will arrive to pack away approx 1hour after start time
For receptions we will organise with the venue for set up & pack away

How many wedding ceremonies do you take each day
Just one, we will only be completing one ceremony per day unless they have a start time more than 4 hours apart, so you can be assured we will be there for you!
